Our company was founded after years of providing escort services to funeral homes and recognizing the growing need for reliable mortuary transportation. In response to requests from our clients, Peaceful Journey MTS was created to provide funeral homes with a trusted transportation partner available around the clock.
As our relationships within the healthcare community have grown, we have expanded our services to include the transportation of laboratory specimens, organs, tissue, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies. Every transport is handled with professionalism, accountability, and strict attention to the chain of custody and timely delivery.

Peaceful Journey Mortuary Transportation Service was inspired and created by my father, Lester Butcher. Lester was asked by Mr. Fouche’s to start a business conducting funeral escorts and first-call services some thirty-two years ago. I began working for my father as a teenager and understood the impact and great responsibility we had to help families in their time of grieving.
After spending several years as a police officer and operating a successful funeral escort company. I always felt drawn to help families as they grieve more directly. I was told by someone in the funeral industry that they noticed first-call companies were not professional and seemed uncompassionate towards the families they served.
I knew this was my calling, and I could provide a professional, empathetic, and caring approach to the industry. I conducted research and listened to some of the most respected Funeral Directors on how I could make my company different. I created what is now Peaceful Journey Mortuary Transportation Services.
